The holidays are a wonderful time for giving, not just to family and friends, but also to people in need. The Holiday Wish List connects you directly with the nonprofits helping thousands of Connecticut children, families, and the elderly during this special time.
The Holiday Wish List offers a wide range of opportunities for foundations, businesses and individuals to support nonprofit organizations that help children, families and the elderly in our state. Needs include cash, gifts and volunteers for the holidays, and a "big wish" item that is not specific to the holidays but would nonetheless be an important addition to the agency.
Participating organizations are located in cities and towns across Connecticut. Additional volunteer opportunities during the holidays may be found for Greater Hartford at the United Way of the Capital Area Volunteer Solutions http://www.uwcact.org and for New Haven at the United Way of Greater New Haven Volunteer Solutions http://www.uwgnh.org.
Although the Wish List is developed for the holiday season, many donors use it throughout the year to identify organizations serving families and children in their communities.
The Holiday Wish List is included in "Ways To Share," a supplement in The Hartford Courant. Look for the 2007 edition in the November 20, 2007 newspaper. We gratefully acknowledge The Hartford Courant and Aetna for their support in publishing "Ways to Share" and our efforts to help spread the word about giving opportunities this holiday season.
To look up organizations you may wish to support, click on any of the following to access the 2007 Connecticut Holiday Wish List: If your nonprofit has needs particular to the holiday season, add your name to the mailing list for next year’s publication by email, fax or mail. Please include your agency’s full name and address, a contact person, email, fax and phone number.
