Why Join?

The Connecticut Council for Philanthropy is the hub of philanthropy in the state, and our members represent a diverse range of givers. From foundations with no staff to very large institutions, and from corporate giving programs to individual philanthropists, the common thread is the desire to make a difference in our communities.

Connecting with your peers

We offer a place for you to network with your colleagues. Share ideas, learn about how others do their grantmaking, identify new programs and priorities – you will develop valuable relationships with your peers.

Valued Services

From ongoing "how-to" seminars to programs on issues you care about, we offer informational, skills-building workshops. Other gatherings offer a big picture, inspirational view of philanthropy.

Leadership

We communicate the important role of philanthropy in our communities to those in the media and government who can amplify our collective voice. You can become part of that common voice to advocate for the growth and creation of new charitable resources.

Organizational excellence

The Council is committed to excellence and upholds high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior in grantmaking. We offer practical resources for funders on accountability, governance, and best practices.
