Everyone agrees that the key to economic recovery is to get people back to work…but how?
Please join your colleagues for an informational meeting for funders about the WorkPath Fund, a new initiative designed to remove obstacles to employment for Connecticut parents.
The recession and subsequent widespread unemployment have had a devastating impact on Connecticut’s children and their parents. Our state is lagging behind the rest of the nation in replacing jobs lost during the recession, with the result that thousands of family breadwinners remain unemployed and underemployed. This session will document the impact of the recession on families and the current status of employment in Connecticut, and explore how the WorkPath Fund can build a bridge between obstacle and opportunity.
Presenters:
Elaine Zimmerman, Executive Director, Connecticut Commission on Children
William Villano, Executive Director, Workforce Alliance
Betty Sugerman Weintraub, Associate Director for Grantmaking and Community Programs, Liberty Bank Foundation
