Members of the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy have free access to the new online mapping tool, Philanthropy In/Sight. The Foundation Center is providing this service to regional associations of grantmakers to help our members assess needs and make informed decisions about domestic and cross-border giving. Free access for logged-in members is available through October 2010 at the link below.

Philanthropy In/Sight is a one-of-a-kind data visualization platform designed to help grantmakers understand the impact of their grants around the world or in their local communities. It enables users to create maps that show where philanthropy has made an impact and where the need for funding is greatest. In these challenging times, foundations need to be even more strategic about the allocation of their funding resources. And whether that means identifying particular geographic areas that need support, nonprofits that are making a difference, or potential funding partners, In/Sight can help.

With support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Ford Foundation for ongoing development and improvement, the Foundation Center is making Philanthropy In/Sight™ available to members of the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy free of charge for one year, through the members’ area of its web site.

NOTE: There is a greater number of grants plotted in 2005 in Connecticut than in all other years due to the work that the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy had commissioned to produce the "Giving by the Largest Grantmakers in Connecticut."
