We hope you will be able to join us for this week’s CCP Member COVID-19 Check-in Call on Friday, May 1, at 12:00 PM.

You can access summaries and recordings of presentations from past calls here.

As CCP has shared in our weekly update, the Governor’s office is working to establish local long-term recovery committees to ensure the needs of every community, including those most marginalized, are met in both the immediate and long term. These local committees will include nonprofit, government, and private sector partners with in-depth knowledge of the communities they serve and will be a key mechanism to meet urgent needs and expedite communication with the state’s emergency management team.

This week we will be joined by Theresa Ranciato-Viele and Lisa Tepper Bates who will share information about the initiative and how philanthropy can play an important role.

Theresa Ranciato-Viele is co-author of Planning for Long Term Disaster Recovery, a guide and tool kit for the State of Connecticut, and served in key nonprofit leadership positions during the state’s responses to Hurricanes Irma and Sandy. She is a consultant on disaster recovery, and is currently volunteering with Connecticut VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) to coordinate the response to COVID-19.

Lisa Tepper Bates, Office of the Governor, is chair of the Emergency Management Recovery/Immediate Needs Subgroup of Commissioner David Lehman's Long Term Recovery Committee.

We would also like to provide some time for member updates and questions. If you would like to share an update or pose a question to your peers about the COVID-19 response, please email Karla Fortunato by Friday morning. We will include as many as we can on this week’s call, and can include any we don’t have time for on the next check-in call.
