CCP is moving to a biweekly check-in call schedule after hosting weekly check-in calls since early April.

This week’s call will continue our discussion of housing security and homelessness in Connecticut.

Aimee Hendrigan, Vice President, Programs, Melville Charitable Trust will join us to talk about the Framework for an Equitable COVID-19 Homelessness Response, an initiative to provide guidance on how homelessness systems can leverage federal funding sources for emergency protective measures, plan for recovery-oriented use of funds, and stress the importance of integrating a racial justice and equity lens throughout all of the work.

Kiley Gosselin, Executive Director, Partnership for Strong Communities will discuss how leaders in Connecticut are working to address homelessness and advance homelessness prevention in response to COVID-19 in Connecticut, including efforts to move the 1000 people into housing who were moved into hotels at the start of the crisis, due to the need to decompress shelters; eviction prevention efforts; efforts to collect data on evictions.

On CCP’s June 26 call, we discussed the state’s plans to provide rental assistance, eviction prevention and other housing security support. But experts and advocates say Connecticut may be heading for a housing and homelessness crisis.

We hope you will join CCP and colleagues on these regular check-in calls as we work together to respond to this crisis in an engaged, strategic, and informed way.

You can access summaries and recordings of presentations from past calls here.
