The COVID-19 coronavirus is getting closer to being named a pandemic. Countries around the world are taking steps to prepare and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated it is not a matter of if, but when the virus will spread across the United States. Now is the time for philanthropy to begin planning how it will respond and how it will invest in actions to support their communities.

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP), with generous support from the UPS Foundation, is hosting a webinar Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 2 p.m. ET to discuss how philanthropy can respond and what the most likely needs will be at each stage of the pandemic. Speakers will discuss the role philanthropy can play during pandemics including advocacy, sharing accurate messaging, and funding preparedness, response and mitigation.

CDP Vice President Regine A. Webster will moderate the discussion.
