Education in the state of Connecticut is at a critical juncture: Connecticut has the largest achievement gap of all fifty states, yet recent policy changes create opportunity to dramatically alter the quality of education in our schools. Connecticut is poised to become a destination state for education sector investment, innovation, and talent, and it is vital that new capacity is built inside and outside the public education system in order to actualize these policy changes and to ensure that schools are set up for real, sustainable transformation. Public Square Partnership, a start-up place-based initiative for education, was created to accelerate the pace of this educational change in the state and to ensure that Connecticut's public education system be dramatically improved to produce tangible results for children.
