Whether the Market is Volatile or Calm, Whether the Market is Volatile or Calm, How Do You Know Your Endowment is Competing on a Level Trading Field? Join Ronan Ryan, Chief Strategy Officer of IEX to learn the answer!

In his fascinating talk, “Leveling the Playing Field:  IEX’s Quest to Create Fairer Markets for Investor Trading,” Ronan will tell the story of IEX, a new stock market that was founded in 2012 by Ronan, Brad Katsuyama and a team of market experts when they discovered that critical layers of the stock market had evolved to give preference to high-speed traders, to the detriment of the investing public, no matter the size of their investments or level of sophistication.

If you are a CEO, president, CFO, trustee, investment committee chair or other leader responsible for ensuring the performance of your foundation’s or endowed charity’s corpus, this special event offers you a unique opportunity to learn more about the concept of high frequency trading and how it impacts your endowment’s investments whether the markets are volatile or calm.  High frequency trading became a familiar term to many in 2014 with the release of Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt, Michael Lewis’ profile of IEX and its founders, and other major publicity including a CBS 60 Minutes profile and a New York Times Magazine cover story.

You’ll gain critical insight into the workings of the stock market and its institutional players, have the chance to network with your colleagues, and understand how IEX is making progress toward ensuring that the trading field is leveled for all who are concerned about effective endowment stewardship.
