The Foundation will present the 2019 Environmental Champions Awards to honor individuals and groups for their contributions to the region.
Essex Land Trust and Pat Young will receive Tom ODell Distinguished Service Awards, honoring their long-term accomplishments in environmental conservation and preservation. Certificates of Appreciation will be presented to Katie Hughes-Nelson of Perk on Main, and Bill Hesbach of the Connecticut Beekeepers Association and Connecticut Queen Breeders Cooperative.
Additionally, recipients of the 2019 Annual Environmental Grants will display their projects and programs.
An hors d’oeuvres and wine reception kicks off the evening, followed by a brief meeting, the awards ceremony, and multimedia presentations by two grantees.
The event is free and open to the public.
