Special Briefing: State Budget and Legislative Session

Join the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy for a special briefing with a panel of experts focused on the Governor’s proposed state budget.

As part of the biannual budget process, the Governor’s office has presented a proposed budget to the legislature, and now the General Assembly has until the end of April to respond. Budget decisions are critical to meeting the needs of communities in our state, and will impact a broad scope of important issues, from housing to early childhood to health equity.

As part of CCP’s ongoing commitment to keeping funders updated about key issues in our state, we are hosting this budget briefing to hear from budget experts and nonprofit leaders. The panel will focus on:

  • State budget overview: Details of the Governor’s proposed state budget. What are the state's revenue & deficit plans, and what are the spending priorities?
  • Impact analysis: How will the proposed budget impact communities, and how are nonprofits working to ensure community needs are met?
  • Looking ahead: What should funders be paying attention to in this legislative session?

Don’t miss this critical and informative conversation. CCP will provide a follow-up briefing in June focused on analysis of key outcomes of the legislative session and the finalized state budget.

This program is for funders only. The briefing will be 75 minutes, and include an opportunity for Q&A. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from leaders on the frontlines of key issues facing our state.

This program is part of CCP's 2023 policy series.
