SOUTHINGTON, CT -- The United Way of Southington plans to expand rides for local seniors after a $40,000 grant from the Main Street Community Foundation. The money will help offset federal funding for senior rides that was lost two years ago.

HARTFORD, CT -- Meals on Wheels America and Aetna are collaborating on a new national program to improve access to health and social services for seniors at all stages of medical need -- from preventive to post-hospital discharge.
DANBURY, Conn. (August 3, 2017) — United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC) is proud to announce that volunteers in the SAVE (Seniors Add Valuable Experience) Program have completed 7,019 hours in the last year, service that is valued at $205,586 to the city of Danbury. This year, 47 seniors volunteered at 23 City of Danbury departments and nonprofit agencies located in the city.
Donaghue Foundation invites letters of intent for research focused on improving the quality of care and quality of life for the elderly population in nursing homes or other care facilities. Letters of intent are due March 27, 2017.
