Baseline Survey Report for EngAGEment Initiative
To establish a baseline of information, this past June 2011, the Council surveyed its members and non-members to determine their current “aging” awareness, activities and future programming ideas. This baseline survey was conducted as part of the Council's work on the EngAGEment Initiative, a national program led by Grantmakers in Aging (GIA) on philanthropy and aging issues. The overall goal of this two-year initiative is to build Connecticut Funders’ understanding, interest and momentum around aging issues.
The Maturing of America - Communities Moving Forward for an Aging Population
A nationwide survey: “The Maturing of America—Communities Moving Forward for an Aging Population.” The survey, administered in 2010 by ICMA, with more than 1,400 local governments responding out of over 10,000 that received it, was intended to assess progress against benchmarks established in the first “Maturing of America” survey conducted in 2005. In both cases, the findings were eye-opening.

Community Experience Partnership

Information on how community foundations around the country, in partnership with Atlantic Philanthropies, helped to develop a range of innovative community projects to tap into the experience and talents of boomers and other older adults.
