For philanthropy to advance equity in all communities, especially low-income communities and communities of color, it needs to be able to understand the demographics of the organizations being funded (and declined), the people being served and the communities impacted. That data should be used to assess practices and drive decision making. 

Funding Formula Guidebook

The Connecticut School Finance Project's new release, Funding Formula Guidebook, is a comprehensive guidebook that examines the components of an equitable school finance system and how Connecticut can achieve fair funding for its more than 540,000 public school students.

State of Black Hartford 2016

The Urban League has now completed its latest edition of State of Black Hartford 2016, thanks to a $36,000 grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

English Language Learners Report
In 2014–15, the Latino Endowment Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving focused on the issue of English Language Learners (ELL)* through a series of forums. This report examines what they learned and highlights the opportunities and the challenges of increased cultural and linguistic diversity.
