NEW BRITAIN, CT -- Sponsors that help fund the school district’s summer learning programs got a firsthand look at where their money goes during two informational sessions Wednesday. NEW BRITAIN - The American Savings Foundation’s board of directors recently announced almost $500,000 in grants to support youth-oriented programs over the coming school year. The announcement comes on the heels of a recent Community Needs Assessment done by Klingberg Family Centers and the Coalition for New Britain Youth, which found that 49 percent of middle school students say they are involved in local youth programs.
