New Canaan Philanthropist Earns Medal Named After Carnegie

NEW CANAAN, CT -- Leonard Tow, Founder and chairman of The Tow Foundation, is one of nine recipients of the 10th class of the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy. He was named during a ceremony held last week on the 100th anniversary of the death of Carnegie, a who was known for his charitable giving, at the latter’s ancestral home in Dunfermline, Scotland.

Chamber Recognizes Business All-Stars

NEW HAVEN, CT -- From businesses with generations of contributions in the region and state to those who just opened their doors last spring, the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce sought to honor them all at its annual Business Leadership Awards Thursday. The chamber’s highest honor of the day—the Community Leadership award— went to the Tagliatela family who has has given its name and its money, through the Louis F. and Mary A. Tagliatela Foundation.
