STAR Awarded $20,000 from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation for "My First Job" Program

NORWALK, CT -- STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way was recently awarded a $20,000 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation for the “My First Job” program, enabling individuals with developmental disabilities to be placed in their first jobs with support and confidence. The STAR program helps adults with developmental disabilities to obtain appropriate employment and supports them with job training and assistance as they continue to work.

Lincoln Financial Foundation Supports Workforce Education

HARTFORD, CT -- Lincoln Financial Foundation is supporting adult literacy, preparing low-income individuals for the job market and providing financial literacy training through $80,000 in grants to five Hartford nonprofit organizations. These grants are a portion of nearly $804,000 in charitable funds that the Foundation has allocated for Hartford in 2014.
