Position Summary  

The Connecticut Health Foundation is looking for a well-organized and detail oriented administrative professional to join its team. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the non-profit and philanthropy field at a state-wide private foundation and be part of our mission to improve health outcomes for people of color.  

Compensation: $20 - $22 hourly

Key Responsibilities 

  • Preparing and taking minutes as needed 
  • Communicating with board members, and vendors over phone and email 
  • Greets visitors, and answers and directs phone calls 
  • Sorting and distributing mail 
  • Assists with board events planning and preparing meeting materials 
  • Reserving and managing conference room set-up/clean-up for all board events  
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars 
  • Write and edit documents from letters to reports 
  • Maintaining stock of office and kitchen supplies 
  • Updating files and maintaining confidentiality 
  • Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as needed 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 

  • Some college or equivalent work experience preferred 
  • Excellent and professional verbal and written communications skills 
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and adjust according to current tasks at hand 
  • Proficient computer and technology skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom) 
  • Comfort taking initiative and anticipating needs of executives 
  • U.S. work authorization 
  • Bi-lingual is a plus 

COVID-19 considerations: 
Due to the ongoing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and a strong belief in the scientific data made available by federal and state health authorities, we have decided to require vaccination as a condition of employment. 

Work Location: Hartford. Because of the public health emergency, our office is on a hybrid schedule. Staff will be required in the office two days per week in the fall and will be able to work remotely on the other days. This is subject to change based on changing conditions.
