CCP Offers Free Workshop, Being Grounded in Philanthropy

Maggie-OsbornHARTFORD, CT -- The Connecticut Council for Philanthropy is offering a free workshop on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at the CohnReznick Training Center in Hartford. The workshop, Being Grounded in Philanthropy, is designed for Connecticut elected officials and government officials, their staff, colleagues and other partners as an introduction to the field of philanthropy.

The session will provide information about the role of philanthropy in society, key events in the development and diversification of the sector, the support infrastructure, and current issues and trends. Participants will learn about the macro context of philanthropy and the history and current landscape of the sector. Materials and resources for further exploration will be distributed.

Maggie Osborn, Chief Strategy Officer the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers and former CCP President, is the workshop presenter.
