Wednesday, September 20, 2017

BOSTON, MA -- Armed with paint brushes, rakes, gloves and basketballs, 150 Harvard Pilgrim, City Year and Boston Celtics' volunteers joined for a day of service to create clean, safe and healthy environments at Boston’s Joseph Lee K-8 school.  This day marked the 10th annual Boston Day of Service for this group who have come together each year to create brighter and healthier spaces.  Over the course of the day the volunteers:

  • Painted a bright 16 - foot-long mural on the outside wall at Joseph Lee School

  • Constructed and painted outdoor benches

  • Taught students how to make and enjoy their own fruit salad

  • Gardened at the Boys & Girls Club

  • Built benches and signage at the Sports and Tennis Enrichment Center

Building strong, vibrant communities is at the core of what we do at Harvard Pilgrim and we are fortunate to have such great longtime partners who understand the value of working together. Thank you Boston Celtics and City Year!  Check out this video from the day.
