Friday, February 28, 2014

NEW LONDON, CT – Citizens Bank recently awarded The Capital Good Fund with a $15,000 grant to support their expansion to New London County. Part of the grant will support The Capital Good Fund’s free tax preparation for qualifying individuals who make less than $50,000 a year. Citizens Bank colleagues will also volunteer their time to serve as tax preparers.

Citizens Bank colleague volunteers will be trained to serve as volunteer tax preparers as part of the Capital Good Funds IRS sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. The VITA sites will be located at Otis Library in Norwich and Cragin Memorial Library in Colchester.

For more information on VITA site locations’ dates and hours, visit www.taxes.capitalgoodfund.org.
