Community Foundation Offers Grants for Nonprofit Leadership Education

TORRINGTON, CT -- The Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation will offer Leadership Enrichment for Advancing Professionals 1.0/2.0 in March of 2018. These powerful nonprofit leadership education programs are presented by Danosky & Associates, a consulting firm that helps nonprofit organizations build capacity and move forward with their strategic visions. Tuition assistance grants are available to qualifying nonprofits through the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation.

LEAP 1.0: for any nonprofit staff member or new executive director who wants to build nonprofit leadership skills, this intensive course offers hands-on training in 7 upper management core nonprofit responsibilities.

LEAP 2.0: for the experienced nonprofit leader, this course is tailored to the specific requirements of the participating group within the following topics:

  • Leadership-adaptive leadership, emotional intelligence, succession planning

  • Boards-strategic and generative, governance beyond diversity, building the board

  • Strategy/Collaboration-alternative models, generating results, collective impact

  • Financial-integrated business, financial modeling

  • Organization-systems assessments

  • Communications-comprehensive marketing, strategy, new media and video

Established in 1969, the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation serves 20 towns in Northwest Connecticut. Its total endowment, comprised of more than 250 funds, has grown from initial assets of $15,000 to more than $94 million. Last year, combined grants and scholarships totaled more than $3 million.
