Connecticut Health Advancement and Research Trust / Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut Welcomes New Board Member

MERIDEN, CT -- Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut is pleased to announce the appointment of Candida Flores to the Board of Directors.

Candida Flores of New Britain is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Family Life Education, a community based health and social service organization in Hartford serving low income families. Candida’s career and leadership path includes the Hispanic Health Council, the DeStefano administration in New Haven, and current service on the board of Common Cause of Connecticut. She has over 38 years of human service, governmental, corporate, community and economic development and leadership experience. Candida is active in community relations and advocacy, an accomplished public speaker, authoritative spokesperson and presenter, and devoted to the physical and mental well-being of underserved communities. 

Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut serves as a catalyst that engages residents and communities in shaping a democratic health system that provides universal access to quality, affordable health care and promotes health in Connecticut.  UHCF believes that health care is a fundamental right and that our work is part of a broader movement for social and economic justice.
