CONNECTICUT COUNCIL FOR PHILANTHROPY
HARTFORD, CT -- The Connecticut Council for Philanthropy (CCP) is seeking a Data and Communications Intern to be responsible for supporting CCP’s Director of Communications in data collection, publication development, and organizational communications.
The Connecticut Council for Philanthropy (CCP) is Connecticut’s statewide association of grantmakers and donors committed to promoting and supporting effective philanthropy for the public good. CCP’s members are comprised by foundations, business and corporate giving programs, bank trusts, donor- advised funds, individual philanthropists, and those serving the philanthropic sector. CCP members annually grant more than $1.4 billion from assets of more than $8.3 billion.
CCP is dedicated to providing its members with high quality programs, resources and services, networking opportunities, insight and news about grantmaking and philanthropy, and opportunities to collaborate.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Data Collection, Entry, and Management
- Data Analysis
- Philanthropic Research
- Update Communications Lists
- Collect Philanthropic News and Updates
- Prep News for Dissemination
- Prep social media updates
- Provide general support
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to collect, interpret, and present data
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well alone and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task while maintaining strategic focus
- Strong customer service skills
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Database experience, especially Excel
- Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
The Data and Communications Assistant will be supervised by the Director of Communications.
This is a part-time, temporary position and is paid at the rate of $15 per hour. This position timing is flexible based on the candidate’s availability. There are no fringe benefits associated with this position.
The Data and Communications Intern will have the opportunity to get professional office experience, learn firsthand about the nonprofit community and the philanthropic community in Connecticut, and have the opportunity to provide data and communications support to a small nonprofit organization. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a small team working to support the philanthropic community of Connecticut.
