CATA seeks a highly motivated individual with a keen attention to detail to join our team as Development Associate. You’re an organized, results-focused professional who can manage multiple projects simultaneously. With a successful capital campaign underway, record-high donations secured, and a new, state-of-the-art facility on the horizon, CATA is ready to launch a new chapter in our relationships with our community and our generous supporters. This position is full-time with a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and strong potential for growth and promotion. Reports to Development Director.

Responsibilities

  • Working with Development Director, develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan
  • Develop and maintain organizational systems to ensure that deadlines are met and fundraising projects are executed at highest level
  • Nurture positive relationships with donors and cultivate prospective donors through regular written communication
  • Prepare acknowledgment letters, stewardship letters, and other donor correspondence
  • Research current donors, and corporate, foundation and individual prospects
  • Write proposals and grant reports; maintain grants calendar and ensure timely and professional submission of materials
  • Coordinate special events, including annual gala, supervising vendors and working closely with gala committee
  • Learn and master donor database (training provided) and maintain responsibility for entering gifts, updating records, and preparing reports; oversee administrative support staff as necessary on these tasks
  • Draft copy for other development and communication materials including newsletters, press releases, annual appeals, website, and social media
  • Coordinate mailings for annual appeal and event invitations
  • Serve as liaison to board, gala, and campaign committees, scheduling meetings and maintaining correspondence
  • Represent CATA at community and networking events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years experience in nonprofit fundraising
  • Zeal for detail and accuracy including ability to line edit and proofread
  • Superb written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and to ask questions to learn new processes
  • Ability to relate to a diverse range of people and exercise cultural competence and inclusion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Experience with eTapestry or other donor database
  • Attendance at occasional evening and weekend events required

Compensation

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
