MIDDLETOWN, CT -- The Connection is seeking a Director of Philanthropy who will establish and fulfill strategic fund development objectives needed to meet agency goals and support long range relational diversified fundraising strategies.
The Director of Philanthropy will establish and fulfill strategic fund development objectives needed to meet agency goals and support long range relational diversified fundraising strategies. He/she will accomplish this through active engagement in and oversight of the agency’s grant writing processes and the development and management of an individual and corporate major gifts program. This position is located The Connection’s Middletown, CT office, and requires full time, 40 hours, Monday-Friday, 1st shift, with evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the agency.
The ideal candidate for this leadership position will have a Master’s Degree in a related field and 10 years of progressive experience in grant writing and fund development in a nonprofit organization. Additionally, candidates should have demonstrated success in responding to and receiving programmatic dollars from public and private local, state and federal resources; demonstrated success in securing major and annual gifts from foundations and corporations; excellent written and verbal communication skills; a strong ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks; and the ability to represent the agency in a professional manner.
