Landmark Junior Achievement Student Exchange Program with China Comes to Connecticut

Friday, August 14, 2015

HARTFORD, CT -- Twenty high school students from Shanghai, China, and 16 high school students from Connecticut met for one week in August in a landmark Junior Achievement (JA) international exchange program, JA Global Connection, sponsored by United Technologies Corporation.

Pictured at their inaugural session in the Hall of the House at the State Capitol in Hartford, the students, program leaders and sponsors spent the week learning about American and Chinese business, entrepreneurism, global trade and leadership through hands-on workshops, field trips to leading business facilities and workshops led by individuals from academia and the business sector.  In addition, the students worked together to create a business plan and will continue to implement it when the Connecticut students – most from Wallingford’s Mark T. Sheehan and Lyman Hall high schools -- visit China next summer.
