Total Emergency Grants from Liberty for COVID-19 Response Totals $200,000

MIDDLETOWN, CT -- Building on their first round of $100,000 in emergency grants they approved in April for ten local hospitals, Liberty Bank of Middletown, Connecticut today announced that through their charitable foundation they will be providing an additional $100,000 in funding to support several other community organizations in their COVID-19 response.

This additional $100,000 in emergency grants will go to 13 organizations whose mission is to meet the affordable housing, food and financial relief needs of the community.

The Liberty Bank team previously dedicated $100,000 in funding to support four healthcare networks and their ten member hospitals in Liberty’s service area in addressing the unmet needs and lack of critical resources available as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s important that Liberty Bank remains a relied upon and untiring teammate in helping our communities succeed not only in prosperous times but be positioned to overcome daunting challenges in the most uncertain times - like the one we face today,” said David W. Glidden, President & CEO of Liberty Bank and President of the Liberty Bank Foundation.

“While we use our core competencies and services to fulfill our customers’ financial needs, we are a community bank that will continue to leverage the resources we have to stand ready and provide the funding local organizations need to effectively serve their clients. We are confident the $200,000 Liberty approved over the last couple of weeks will go a long way in our collective response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
