Luria Named Board Chair of Connecticut Council for Philanthropy

WATERBURY, CT -- Webster Bank is pleased to announce that Kathy Luria, senior vice president of community affairs and director of philanthropy, has been named chair of the board of directors of the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy.  
 
The Connecticut Council for Philanthropy (CCP) is an association of grantmakers committed to promoting and supporting effective philanthropy for the public good. The CCP believes in encouraging philanthropy that is guided by the values of transparency, accessibility, ethical conduct, and responsiveness to diverse populations.  
 
“I am deeply honored to be nominated and to serve in this capacity,” said Luria, who joined Webster in 2006. “With a robust programming arm, the CCP serves as a source of best practice and learning, bringing philanthropists together for even greater impact.”

At Webster, Luria oversees the corporate philanthropic arm of the organization across the franchise. She leads Webster’s community affairs program, managing the company’s charitable contributions, community service and employee volunteerism, and leads internal activities to advance Webster’s philanthropic objectives. Kathy also serves as a Director on the Harold Webster Smith Foundation.
 
Prior to joining Webster, Luria, who lives in Woodbury, Connecticut, was director of marketing and public relations for Naugatuck Valley Community College. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and her M.B.A. from the University of New Haven. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut and Naugatuck Valley Community College.
