Resurrecting old Study Circles program could be a step on path to fighting racism

CHICAGO, IL -- Racial tensions and calls for police reform are not new topics in this community, by any means. In fact, back in 1998, the city paid good money to bring to Aurora a national program called Study Circles (now, Everyday Demoracy). It was an award-winning initiative that emphasized small group discussions which forced participants to look into each other’s eyes and talk from the heart about their emotions and their experiences.
