NEW CANAAN, CT -- The Sapienza Scholarship Fund was established at New Canaan Community Foundation in 2006 through a bequest from the estate of Anne and Anthony Sapienza. The fund supports individual scholarship awards to benefit specific students and makes grants to nonprofit educational organizations to fund their existing or planned scholarship programs for their students or clients.
The 2017 Sapienza Scholarship Block Grant Application Guidelines and application forms can be downloaded from the New Canaan Community Foundation website: Publications & Financials page under Grantmaking. Last year, 8 grants were awarded, averaging $2,500.
Requirements are as follows:
Eligibility: Organizations must be eligible nonprofits
Program Area: Existing or planned scholarship programs for students/clients
Deadline: Proposals must be received by Friday, April 21st by 5:00pm
