Support Local Nonprofits Covid-19 Needs Through Northwest Corner Gives

TORRINGTON, CT -- Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation has launched Northwest Corner Gives (, a crowdfunding giving platform, created by the Community Foundation to help Northwest Connecticut nonprofits build awareness and raise matching funds for Covid-19 related expenses.

Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation has committed resources to fund up to 75% of all nonprofit campaign goals. The rest is up the community!

As you give to nonprofits through Northwest Corner Gives, the Community Foundation is matching gifts dollar-for-dollar from June 15th-July 31st up the campaign goal.

Campaign goals include:

  • Operating expenses (from lost revenue due to closures)
  • Support for remote programming
  • Technology and equipment needs to enable distance work and distance programming
  • Personal protective equipment needs

Established in 1969, the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation serves 20 towns in Northwest Connecticut. Its total endowment, comprised of more than 280 funds, has grown from initial assets of $15,000 to almost $102 million. Last year, combined grants and scholarships totaled $4 million.
