WILTON, CT -- The Tauck Family Foundation recently welcomed Nikkya Hargrove as their new Program Associate. Nikkya's desire to help improve the outcomes for children began in college. In her junior year of college, she volunteered at a domestic violence shelter and created enrichment activities for children who were directly impacted by trauma. The experience at the shelter provided Nikkya with the opportunity to work in service to our youth and help to create a more positive future for them. From there, she began her professional career working to improve outcomes for children and teens as a case manager for mentally-ill adolescents at a non-profit organization in upstate New York.
With over 10 years of experience in working within the education and non-profit sector, Nikkya is most passionate about helping to create a better tomorrow for our youth and supporting them through graduation. For four and half years, Nikkya worked within the Bridgeport Public Schools and empowered students to be their best, both in and out of the classroom. Most recently, Nikkya served as the Program Director for a non-profit and worked to break the cycle of poverty through implementing service learning curriculum, supervising staff members, and supported the social and academic endeavors of students in the Bridgeport Public School system.
Nikkya is a graduate of Bard College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Rights and Multi-Ethnic Studies. She also holds a Master of Science in Counseling from Mercy College.
