Community Foundation Celebrates Women at Annual Breakfast

MYSTIC, CT -- Dozens of women — and a few men — packed the ballroom of the Hilton Mystic on Friday morning for the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut's annual Celebration of Women Breakfast.  It was a chance for the Community Foundation to reflect on the programs that ran last year with financial support from its Southeast Area Women & Girls Fund, and to encourage donors to continue their support.

Community Foundation Awards Record $664K in Scholarships to 268 Students from Eastern Connecticut

NEW LONDON, CT -- The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut (CFECT) announces more than 260 students from its 42 communities in Eastern Connecticut were selected by The Foundation’s Scholarship Committees to receive over $664,000 in single and multi-year awards.

Local Funds Save Part of Youth Summer Jobs Program

NEW LONDON, CT -- The lack of a state budget has kept $500,000 in state funding from making its way to Eastern Connecticut for the region's Summer Youth Employment Program. Led by the Eastern Connecticut Workforce Investment Board several organizations collectively contributed $375,334 to keep it going. Contributing organizations were the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation, Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, Liberty Bank Foundation, Mystic Aquarium, New London Public Schools, Windham Regional Community Council and People's United Community Foundation, along with federal funds.
