How a 'Genius Grant' Came to Nurture Future Poets
SHEFFIELD, MA -- The Amy Clampitt Fund, with roots in a McArthur Fellowship, is a supporting organization of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, providing literary residencies at the Amy Clampitt House. The Foundation serves Berkshire County, MA; Columbia and northeast Dutchess County, NY; and northwest Litchfield County, CT.
Increasing Awareness of Technical-Based Career Pathways
BRISTOL, CT -- Main Street Community Foundation, serving the central Connecticut communities of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott, has joined with local Individuals, groups and businesses to increase awareness of technical-based career pathways in order to enhance students’ success, alleviate the shortage of skilled technical workers and increase employment opportunities in those communities.
Helping the Elderly of Hamden - The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and The Phelps Community Project

In her Last Will and Testament, Emma P. Pelton of Cheshire, Connecticut established the John P. and Cora E. Phelps Fund at The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven in memory of her grandfather and mother to “benefit … elderly people who are residents of the Town of Hamden.” Since the fund was established over forty years ago, more than 65 grants have been made to eight organizations serving Hamden’s older adults.
