New Reach Out and Read Research Underway in Connecticut
MIDDLETOWN, CT -- Reach Out and Read has launched a new research study being conducted in Connecticut. Thanks to the generous support of The Grossman Family Foundation, and The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr/ U.S. Bank Foundation, the study, "Rx for Success: A Randomized Controlled Trial of Technology-Based Dialogic Reading Training Incorporated into the Reach Out and Read Program" started enrolling families in April of 2018.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Bank of America today announced that more than $2.8 million has been delivered to Gulf Coast nonprofits collectively supporting short- and long-term Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. In addition to the previously announced $1 million in Hurricane Harvey relief funding the Bank of America Charitable Foundation committed to nonprofit organizations in the days following the hurricane, an outpouring of support from bank employee donations totaling more than $900,000 was also matched dollar-for-dollar through the company’s Employee Matching Gifts program.

TORRINGTON, CT -- Two now-legendary entities began in Torrington at almost the same instant in 1969 and have evolved into major institutions with important ties to each other. While Sharon Dante was launching a dance school called Nutmeg Ballet, members of the Torrington Club were starting a philanthropic group called the Torrington Area Foundation for Public Giving. Both began modestly and grew up together just a few blocks apart, changing their names over the years to become the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts and the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation.
