Danbury Named As Finalist In Bloomberg Philanthropies’ 2018 Mayors Challenge

DANBURY, CT -- Out of 320 applicants, the City of Danbury is one of 35 finalists in the Bloomberg Philanthropies 2018 U.S. Mayors Challenge, a nationwide competition that encourages city leaders to uncover bold, inventive ideas that confront the toughest problems cities face. Danbury’s application, led by the City of Danbury in partnership with United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC), rose to the top for our innovative approach to finding a solution to the lack of affordable childcare options for low-income families.

Off To a Great Start! Early Childhood Fair Set For Saturday, Feb. 24

DANBURY, CT -- United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC) in conjunction with Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership is proud to announce a fun and informative early childhood fair, Off to a Great Start! on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Rogers Park Middle School, 21 Memorial Drive, Danbury, CT from 11 am to 2 pm. This event is FREE and open to the public for parents of young children.

Burlington Families to Explore Museum Free of Charge Thanks to Grant

BRISTOL, CT -- Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center, located in Bristol, will hold its inaugural “Imagine Nation Loves Burlington Day” in the spring of 2018. This program is being made possible by a $1,000 grant from the Burlington Community Fund at Main Street Community Foundation.

New Report Highlights A Better Way to Assess the Developmental Needs of Children in Early Childhood Systems

FARMINGTON, CT -- A new report released by the Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) examines how Connecticut and communities in four other states are using MLDA to efficiently assess and address the needs of these children.
