Website Privacy Statement

The Connecticut Council for Philanthropy (CCP) has a goal of maintaining high standards for the protection of privacy over the Internet. The purpose of this privacy statement ("Privacy Statement") is to explain in a general manner CCP's policies with respect to the types of information the CCP obtains about visitors to the CCP's publicly accessible Web sites (collectively and individually, the "CCP Web Sites") and how such information is used, and to confirm your consent to such policies and practices. Please note that this Privacy Statement does not apply to the access to or use of Web sites controlled or operated by the CCCP that are not available publicly (e.g., sites that must be accessed via a password and user I.D.), nor does this Privacy Statement apply to information collected by other sources or that is conspicuously submitted to CCP or any third parties.

This Privacy Statement is part of, governed by and subject to the Terms and Conditions for the use of the CCP Web Sites that may be accessed at www.ctphilanthropy.org/terms-of-use. By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you are consenting to the collection, use and disclosure of information and data about you and your use of CCP Web Sites. Your continued use of any CCP Web Site constitutes your continuing consent to the Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Statement.

CCP does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under thirteen, please do not give us any personal data. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personal data to CCP, please contact us at ccp@CTphilanthropy.org, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.

To gauge the effectiveness of CCP Web Sites and the CCP's services, to help the CCP make efficient use of and improvements to the CCP Web Sites and the CCP's services, to help understand CCP's users and for other purposes, CCP collects certain non-personally identifiable information about visitors that does not reveal a visitor's identity. For example (and without limitation), CCP's Web server automatically recognizes a visitor's domain name (such as .com, .edu, etc.), the Web page from which a visitor enters a CCP Web Site, which Web pages a visitor visits on CCP Web Sites and how much time a visitor spends on each Web page at a CCP Web Site. CCP may, in CCP's sole discretion, use this information in a non-personally identifiable form or aggregate this information and use it for any purpose.

CCP's policy is not to sell or disclose personally identifiable information obtained online about our visitors to anyone outside of CCP unless specifically authorized to do so by such visitors, or required by law, or if such disclosure is, in CCP's sole judgment, reasonably necessary to protect the safety of persons or property. CCP reserves the right to sell, assign or transfer any and all personally identifiable information collected via CCP Web Sites to any entity or individual in connection with any change in control, reorganization, sale, merger or transfer of CCP or all or substantially all of CCP's assets.

CCP's policy is not to send unsolicited "junk" or "spam" e-mail. If you receive an unwanted e-mail from CCP, please simply send CCP an e-mail asking CCP not to send you future e-mails, and CCP will take reasonable steps in order to avoid sending such unwanted emails in the future.

This Privacy Statement applies only to CCP Web Sites. CCP Web Sites may contain direct and indirect links to other Web sites, which CCP provides for your reference and convenience only. Any links to other Web sites provided on a CCP Web Site do not imply on behalf of CCP any endorsement of the activities of or any association with any such Web sites or the respective operators thereof. CCP does not control and is not responsible for the content of or the privacy practices employed by any other Web sites or the respective operators thereof.

To improve the services CCP can offer, CCP may opt to expand its capabilities for obtaining information about CCP Web Sites' visitors in the future. CCP may revise or update this Privacy Statement to ensure that you are aware of developments in this area, and CCP recommends that you periodically check this Privacy Statement to view any such revisions or updates. Your continued use of any CCP Web Site will be subject to the revised Privacy Statement (to the extent not otherwise subject to other agreements between you and the CCP).

If you have any questions about this Privacy Statement or concerns about the way CCP processes your personal data, please contact us at ccp@CTphilanthropy.org.
