Norwich Foundation Creates Fund to Help Arts, Cultural Organizations

NORWICH, CT -- The Lord Foundation has created a new Special Fund for Arts & Culture, with $100,000 dedicated to assisting nonprofit arts and cultural organizations in New London County that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition is promoting the new grant fund and has suggested possible uses for the funds. Lord said at the outset of the pandemic, the foundation donated $100,000 to the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut’s Neighbors to Neighbors Fund to help human services nonprofits provide basic needs to people in the region. The Cultural Coalition also has established the Culture SECT Economic Recovery Fund through the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut.

Cultural Coalition Launches Economic Recovery Fund With Community Foundation

NEW LONDON, CT -- The Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition announced Tuesday that in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has established the CultureSECT Economic Recovery Fund at the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut. The initiative will support local arts and culture institutions, and individual artists. The Cultural Coalition will recommend awards to be made through the Community Foundation.

Little Theatre Of Manchester Receives Grant

MANCHESTER, CT – The Little Theatre of Manchester (LTM) is pleased to announce it has received a grant of $90,000 over three years from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. These funds will support a new program that will provide access to performance space for smaller, diverse local arts and cultural organizations in Greater Hartford.

Keeler Tavern Digitizes 7000 Historic Ridgefield Photographs

RIDGEFIELD, CT -- Over the last seven months, Terry McManus has spent dozens of hours at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center digitizing glass plate negatives that photographer Joseph Hartmann created of Ridgefield residents and the town during the early 20th century. Purchase of the digital scanner was made possible through funds raised at the 2018 Fairfield County Giving Day sponsored by Fairfield County's Community Foundation and Bank of America.

Pilobolus to Perform and Teach at Guilford Performing Arts Festival

Guilford, CT -- The internationally acclaimed dance company Pilobolus will perform, teach in the public schools, and hold dance and movement classes for the public as part of the 2019 Guilford Performing Arts Festival. Connecticut Office of the Arts and Hartford Foundation-Sponsored Survey to Study Greater Hartford Arts Landscape
