RIDGEFIELD, CT -- The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield received a $7,000 grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation to provide for the basic needs of children from working families. The Club opened its doors last week to new and returning kids from working families.

HARTFORD, CT -- Capital Workforce Partners (CWP) is pleased to announce that the Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program (SYELP) will serve nearly 1,500 youth throughout North Central Connecticut at a time when youth and families are being disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and high unemployment. The sources of SYELP funding include a $1 million commitment from the City of Hartford, $300,000 from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, $150,000 from the Travelers Foundation, $60,000 from the JP Morgan Chase Foundation, $15,000 from the Bank of America Foundation, and $34,500 from the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA). Funds from the State of CT Youth Employment Program, and the CT Department of Children and Families have also been committed.
NEW CANAAN, CT -- New Canaan Community Foundation's Young Philanthropists Program brought about 30 high school students together to learn about philanthropy, the nonprofit sector, and how they can impact local community issues. NEW LONDON, CT -- The lack of a state budget has kept $500,000 in state funding from making its way to Eastern Connecticut for the region's Summer Youth Employment Program. Led by the Eastern Connecticut Workforce Investment Board several organizations collectively contributed $375,334 to keep it going. Contributing organizations were the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation, Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, Liberty Bank Foundation, Mystic Aquarium, New London Public Schools, Windham Regional Community Council and People's United Community Foundation, along with federal funds.
