Liberty Bank Giving Circle Donations Total $28,000

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Liberty Bank has donated a total of $28,000 to local agencies providing emergency or transitional housing for homeless families and individuals, and serving the communities of: Bristol, Middletown, New Britain, New Haven, New London, Norwich, Waterbury and Willimantic.

Local Funds Save Part of Youth Summer Jobs Program

NEW LONDON, CT -- The lack of a state budget has kept $500,000 in state funding from making its way to Eastern Connecticut for the region's Summer Youth Employment Program. Led by the Eastern Connecticut Workforce Investment Board several organizations collectively contributed $375,334 to keep it going. Contributing organizations were the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation, Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, Liberty Bank Foundation, Mystic Aquarium, New London Public Schools, Windham Regional Community Council and People's United Community Foundation, along with federal funds.

Webster Bank Names New SVP of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs

WATERBURY, CT -- Webster Bank has named Alice Ferreira as senior vice president of corporate communications and public affairs. In her new role, Ferreira is responsible for all external and internal communications, public relations and government affairs for the bank, and will oversee the bank’s community affairs and philanthropy efforts.

Newman’s Own Foundation Welcomes Incoming Class of Fellows

WESTPORT, CT -- Newman’s Own Foundation announced the third year of its Fellowship Program, as a new class of 17 Fellows is welcomed into the program. The new Fellows come from a wide swath of geography, from Alaska to New Zealand, and they will work at organizations covering six states and Washington, DC.
