DANBURY, CT -- A city-wide collaborative focused on helping lower-income residents build better lives has been awarded a $22,000 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF).
NORWALK, CT -- Underscoring their commitment to collaboratively support public agencies and non-profit organizations striving to close education, workforce and other opportunity gaps in Connecticut, the founding members of the Collective Impact Opportunity Fund today announced the initial distribution of grants from the Fund — bestowing $1,032,000 to 10 organizations serving the region.
HARTFORD, CT -- With the support of up to $2.1 million (depending on number of students participating) from the City of Hartford (up to $1,000,000), the State of Connecticut/Connecticut Department of Labor (up to $696,000), and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving (up to $526,000), the 2019 Summer Youth Employment Learning Program will serve more than 1,000 participants in Hartford and up to 1,500 throughout the region.
HARTFORD, CT -- In February, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, in partnership with the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and the City of Hartford, announced the Hartford Area Inner City Capital Connections (ICCC) program to drive job creation, capital investment, and economic growth in underserved communities.
HARTFORD, CT -- More than 1,000 youths in Greater Hartford will begin working under a summer career readiness program aimed at training young people for jobs in high-demand sectors. The Capital City contributed $1 million to the program, while the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving provided more than $400,000. The state, its labor unit department and the American Savings Foundation and other groups also provided funding for the workforce program.
