HARTFORD, CT -- More students will have access to internships and other job development training thanks to a one-year, $150,000 grant from the Hartford Foundation for Pubic Giving to support the Hartford Student Internship Program.

NEW BRITAIN, CT -- Responding to both the State’s philanthropic needs and need for skilled philanthropy professionals, Central Connecticut State University is offering an innovative course in the practice of philanthropy. This ambitious 16-week course will begin in January and include 25 presenters from local nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. As part of the course, students will study local needs, create a case study, and write a proposal following the American Savings Foundation grant-making guidelines. At the end of the course, up to two of these projects may each be funded with a $5,000 grant from the American Savings Foundation.
HARTFORD, CT -- In an ongoing effort to reduce the number of motor vehicle crashes among 16-to 19-year-olds and better alert teens and their parents of the dangers, the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles and Travelers are once again launching their annual Teen Safe Driving Video contest for high school students. Entries are due by December 15, 2017. Travelers will award up to $26,000 in cash prizes to the winning students and their high schools.
WILLIMANTIC, CT -- Savings Institute Bank & Trust is accepting submissions for its Lights, Camera, Save! video contest. The contest, organized by the American Bankers Association Foundation, is a national competition that encourages teens to use video to communicate the value of saving money and inspire their peers to become lifelong savers.
Every year, through Bank of America's Student Leaders program they help connect 225 community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service.
TORRINGTON, CT -- Area students have been awarded $154,050 in scholarships and awards for the 2017-2018 academic year through funds held at the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation.
