CCP Policy Update - April 21, 2017

Friday, April 21, 2017

We wanted you to be aware of the state's current plans to repeal the sales tax exemption on goods and services sold to nonprofits, and imposes a grants in lieu of taxes payment rate of fifty-five per cent for college and hospital property, actions that could adversly affect many of you and/or your grantees.
H.B. No. 7322 includes a provision to increase the sales tax rate from 6.35% to 6.99% and to repeal certain exemptions, primarily the exemption of non-profits from the sales tax. A full list of sales tax exemptions is available here.
