We wanted you to be aware of the state's current plans to repeal the sales tax exemption on goods and services sold to nonprofits, and imposes a grants in lieu of taxes payment rate of fifty-five per cent for college and hospital property, actions that could adversly affect many of you and/or your grantees. |
H.B. No. 7322 includes a provision to increase the sales tax rate from 6.35% to 6.99% and to repeal certain exemptions, primarily the exemption of non-profits from the sales tax. A full list of sales tax exemptions is available here. |
