For Goodness Sake Awarded Grant from The Broad View Fund

Thursday, December 14, 2017

BRISTOL, CT -- On December 2, For Goodness Sake was awarded an $11,562 grant from The Broad View Fund at Main Street Community Foundation. The grant will support a strategic planning process for growing the organization.

For Goodness Sake provides direct aid, such as furniture and household goods, to individuals and families making the transition to independent living at no cost to them. These individuals and families may be formerly homeless, escaping a domestic violence situation or rebuilding a life after a fire.

“Hundreds of families have been helped since we started in 2014,” said Kendra Morales, Executive Director of the Bristol based nonprofit organization. “As an all-volunteer organization that has grown by leaps in bounds in the last two years, we have found ourselves on the edge of needing and wanting to do more. Creating a strategic plan will help us get there.”

The Broad View Fund is a donor advised fund that was established in 2016 by Bristol residents Bob Alim, Bob Boudreau and Kevin Prior, collectively known as BBK. This fund supports charitable organizations at the recommendation of the donors.

“This year we chose to support For Goodness Sake and help take this organization to the next level,” said Bob Boudreau. “The work they do is not only unique but vital.”
