More than $1 million Committed to The Fairfield County COVID-19 Resiliency Fund

Thursday, March 26, 2020

NORWALK, CT -- With the generosity of donors, media, and the community, in only one week since it was established the community has committed more than $1 million to The Fairfield County COVID-19 Resiliency Fund at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. The purpose of the new Resiliency Fund is to support local nonprofits and help alleviate the social and economic consequences of this global pandemic and to prevent the widening of disparities in education, employment, housing, and health.

During that same time, Fairfield County's Community Foundation has already received funding requests from the nonprofit community in excess of $1.4 million…and they expect that the requests and need will continue to grow. Their first emergency grant funding is being distributed this week. Any new gifts up to $10,000 to the Resiliency Fund, will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000, by an anonymous FCCF donor-advised fundholder.
