United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut Welcomes Chief Financial Officer

Stefanie Boles Joins Executive Staff

HARTFORD, CT -- United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut is pleased to announce Stefanie Boles has joined its team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

As CFO, Boles will provide strategic direction for the development and operation of United Way’s administrative, financial, legal and risk management operations. She will also oversee the Information Technology, Human Resources and Facilities Management functions of the organization.

Boles takes over for Thomas Glynn who retired as CFO after nearly eight years with United Way.

Boles has 20 years of leadership in the nonprofit sector, including 18 years of CFO experience at United Way of Greater New Haven.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Stefanie to our United Way,” said Paula S. Gilberto, President and CEO of United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut. “The breadth of her experience in finance, administration, human resources, information technology and resource development is an asset to our team and the communities we serve.”

Boles is a member of United Way Worldwide’s Financial Issues Committee and was one of 20 United Way system leaders selected nationally to develop a framework for diversity and inclusion within the United Way network.

“I’m proud to continue my service to United Way as Chief Financial Officer for United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut,” said Boles. “I look forward to working with United Way’s board, leadership volunteers and staff to support the organization’s mission of bringing together the people and resources committed to the well-being of children and families.”

Boles was named one of New Haven Business Times’ 20 Noteworthy Women and received the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women Community Service Award and the Unsung Heroine Award from the New Haven Faith Community for Community Service.

She is also the founder and CEO of the Connecticut Black Professionals Network and has been a guest lecturer at the University of New Haven’s Graduate School, non-profit leadership studies class. 

A resident of Hamden, Boles holds a Master of Arts in Executive Leadership and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accounting from Liberty University.
