Hartford Foundation Partners With Local and National Community Foundations to Address Youth Opportunity Gap
HARTFORD, CT -- Last month, Hartford Foundation president Jay Williams and Elysa Gordon, the Foundation’s senior advisor, joined with other members of CFON in Chicago to outline the group’s progress over the past year and chart a course for the future. In 2016, the Hartford Foundation became a charter member of the Community Foundation Opportunity Network (CFON), a collaboration among 40 community foundations to narrow that “opportunity gap” so that all children in America have the chance to achieve their full potential. The Network includes America’s leading community foundations, from New Hampshire to Georgia to Illinois to Seattle, and includes four in Connecticut: The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, Fairfield County's Community Foundation, and Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
