STAMFORD, CT -- United Way of Western Connecticut honored Webster Bank President John Ciulla at its 23rd Annual Heart of Gold Dinner at the Stamford Marriott. The award honored Ciulla for Webster’s volunteerism policy which gives employees 16 hours of paid time off to encourage volunteer participation throughout the year.
HARTFORD, CT -- More than 300 funders and community leaders gathered at the Marriott in Hartford for The Connecticut Council on Philanthropy’s (CCP) Annual Meeting and Philanthropy Awards Luncheon. The new president of CCP, Karla Fortunato, was introduced, and awards were given to Sheila Perrin and Diane Sierpina.

Sheila Perrin, co-founder and board chair of New Haven-based Perrin Family Foundation, has been a leader in local and state philanthropy for more than 20 years.
WASHINGTON, DC — More than 250 philanthropy leaders from across the nation, including five representing Connecticut philanthropy, are gathering on Capitol Hill starting today to urge lawmakers to value and strengthen charitable giving in America. Their meetings are part of Foundations on the Hill, a multi-day event presented by the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers in partnership with the Council on Foundations and the Alliance for Charitable Reform.
