Community Foundation Celebrates Women at Annual Breakfast

MYSTIC, CT -- Dozens of women — and a few men — packed the ballroom of the Hilton Mystic on Friday morning for the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut's annual Celebration of Women Breakfast.  It was a chance for the Community Foundation to reflect on the programs that ran last year with financial support from its Southeast Area Women & Girls Fund, and to encourage donors to continue their support.

CT’s Beardsley Zoo Receives $30K Grant

BRIDGEPORT, CT -- Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo has received a $30,000 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, including a $15,000 award from the foundation’s Fund for Women and Girls. The funds will be used to support the Zoo’s teen program, Conservation Discovery Corps (CDC).

Women & Girls’ Fund Hosting Lunch & Learn

BRISTOL, CT -- The Women & Girls' Fund of Main Street Community Foundation is hosting a Lunch & Learn for local nonprofit professionals and volunteers to discuss the Fund’s grant process as well as the critical needs and issues local girls and women face. This luncheon will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 11 am – 1 pm at Tunxis@Bristol, which is located at 430 North Main Street in Bristol.

Women & Girls Fund Accepting Grant Applications

TORRINGTON, CT -- The Women & Girls Fund of the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation invites nonprofits to apply for grants. Programs eligible for grants include those that serve women and girls in the development of economic self-sufficiency by means of education, financial literacy and social services. Applicants may request up to $5,000 for programs. The application deadline is March 8, 2017.
